LanesHealth launches campaign to support declining mental health

The first ever “Kalmfulness Week” (21-25 November) has been announced by pharmaceutical manufacturer LanesHealth.

A newly coined term, ‘kalmfulness’ has been defined as the “state or quality of being kalm, peaceful and untroubled in the midst of daily life”. It can be achieved through a number of different practises, such as adopting a mindset of gratitude or establishing a self care routine.

A new survey published by the company found that one in five Brits say their mental health and wellbeing has significantly worsened since this time last year.

With limited mental health services available, a greater focus must be placed on self-management tools, with pharmacy teams and other healthcare professionals supporting individuals to take control of their mental wellbeing.

During the week, the company is partnering with psychologist and psychotherapist, Charlotte Armitage, and other wellness experts who will share practical advice and tips to help improve the UK’s mental health as part of a social media and PR campaign.

“At LanesHealth, we understand that pharmacy staff are often asked for advice and recommendations on mental health,” said Samantha Ross, senior product manager at LanesHealth. “We believe that kalmfulness offers easily achievable ways for pharmacy customers to support their own emotional wellbeing through a range of practices, including using traditional herbal remedies such as those found in the Kalms range.”

To find out how you and your team can get involved visit the kalmfulness website or call LanesHealth on 01452 524012.
